From www.advicesisters.net:
Recently I blogged about a thin paperback book called "The Best Kept Secrets of the Real Cougar Woman--How Old Did You Say You Are?" by Linda Franklin (High Yield Living). This book intrigued me because the (semi-derogatory) term "cougar" is used more frequently as the years pass. A "cougar" is a jungle cat, but it can also be used to describe a "predatory" older woman who dates younger men, "attacking" them as "prey" to satisfy her lustful urges. I don't like this term. As I said in my blog post, men who have made connections with young women are never called predatory, they're simply called: "lucky." Fortunately, The Best Kept Secrets of the Real Cougar Woman is not about how to seek and conquer men, it's about how to look good over a certain age.
The author, Linda Franklin was the first Canadian woman to own her seat on the New York Stock Exchange. At age 50 she decided to switch gears and focus on anti-aging. The chapters in her book cover anti-aging techniques including wearing age-appropriate clothes, hair, and makeup, and even how to have more youthful looking teeth and deal with age and gravity's ravages on skin. Color illustrations are thoughtful and demonstrative.
I am delighted that Ms. Franklin wrote this book, focusing with a positive voice, on the needs of mature women. Both men and women are living longer, and they want to be attractive and younger-looking whether they're seeking a love connection, or not.
